First Looks and Portfolio Reviews for Illustrators: Giuseppe Castellano will critique a First Look slideshow of illustrations during his morning workshop. Giuseppe is Art Director at Penguin Group USA. Illustrators may
send 1-3 images that will be shown together anonymously in the PowerPoint slideshow. The ideal size for each image is no more than 10" on a side @ 100 dpi or less than 3M.If you wish to participate, by Monday, March 24, 2014, please send up to 3 jpeg images to Illustrator Coordinator Susan Detwiler at this address: susandetwiler@comcast.net
Query Letter Critique Live: Bring a hard copy of your query letter to an agent to Sara D'Emic and Rori Shay's session and hear their feedback. Yes, these will be read out loud.
First Pages by Alyson Heller: Alyson, Associate Editor, Aladdin, Simon and Schuster Children's Publishing, will give us her take on how to hook a reader, and will "ask for a few brave volunteers" to read their first pages for a makeover using tips from her session.
From Manuscript to Dummy with Tara Lazar: Come prepared with a rough draft and at least nine clean sheets of paper to create your very own picture book.
