About the webinar:
Summer Springboard for Illustrators 2022 continues with a look at developing unique, memorable characters.
Author/illustrator Timothy Young has created many animal characters for his books, for toy concepts and animated shows. He has illustrated animals realistically and in a humorous, cartoony style. Tim will talk about how to create interesting animal characters, and he’ll discuss what kind of animal you could consider (maybe your main character could be something other than a bear?) He will also talk about taking your animals from simple sketches to more rendered finals.
About the Presenter:
As a child, Timothy Young always wondered who made the toys he played with, who wrote and illustrated the books he read, and who made the cartoons he watched. He grew up to be someone who has done creative work in all of those industries. His career highlights include working on the Penny cartoons for Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, building Muppets, and sculpting the first Simpsons toys. He also created the pool toy The Chicken Fight Game.
Tim is the author/illustrator of 15 books, including I Hate Picture Books!, The Angry Little Puffin, and the unusually titled untitled. He has illustrated books for other authors and has two new board that came out in November 202: P Is For Puffin:The ABCs of Uncommon Animals and Space Aliens 1-2-3: Intergalactic Counting by Color.
