About the webinar series:

Spring into to your writing time with these mini-webinars, designed to focus on the details of craft. Each lesson will give you specific, actionable steps you can take to improve your writing right away – and offer activities and prompts to practice your new skill, complete with presenter Q&A time. About the presenter:

Kathy MacMillan is an author, American Sign Language interpreter, librarian, storyteller, and avowed Hufflepuff. She has published 18 books for children, teens, and adults, including picture books (the Little Hands Signings series and The Runaway Shirt from Familius Press); children’s nonfiction (She Spoke: 14 Women Who Raised Their Voices and Changed the World, Familius Press), young adult (Compton Crook Award Finalist Sword and Verse and Dagger and Coin, HarperTeen), and adult nonfiction (Little Hands and Big Hands, Huron Street Press, as well as multiple books for ALA Editions).  She has worked with book packagers (including the Chronicles of Cavallon series for Working Partners under the pen name Kim Forester) and work for hire, in addition to publishing with both small and large presses. Kathy is represented by Steven Malk of Writers House. She serves as the co-Regional Advisor for the MD/DE/WV Region of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Critiquing: Query letters, synopsis, and manuscript pages for the following categories: Picture book manuscript – fiction; Picture book manuscript – nonfiction; Early reader/chapter book fiction; Early reader/chapter book nonfiction; Middle grade fiction; Middle grade nonfiction; Young adult fiction; Young adult nonfiction; Informational fiction.

Those who select add-on critiques may submit their critique material anytime between July 14 and August 11, 2020. Detailed submission instructions will be sent out weekly to those registered for critiques beginning July 8. You do not need to submit anything now.
