There’s no denying it: Publishing is s-l-o-w. It takes years from the time an author starts writing a story to the time it’s published and that’s not even counting all the time it takes to become a better writer, understand the market, and sign with an agent. But could there be an upside to this long journey? In this webinar, Meera will discuss how to develop your craft, find the heart of your work, and develop a writing community over the long haul, and what to do when you hit those inevitable bumps in the road. She’ll also talk about career considerations, including querying and working with a publishing team. This session is for new writers, experienced writers, and anyone who’s felt like the road to publication is sometimes a bit too long.

About the Presenter:

As a child, Meera Trehan read as much as she could, memorized poems, and ate enough cookies to earn the nickname “Monster” after the Cookie Monster. After attending the University of Virginia and Stanford Law School, she practiced public interest law for over a decade before turning to writing for children. Meera has been a Pitch Wars mentor and an Author Mentor Match mentor. Her debut, THE VIEW FROM THE VERY BEST HOUSE IN TOWN releases from Walker Books in February 2022. She is represented by Molly Ker Hawn at the Bent Agency.
